Hey all, been lurking here for a while and finally posting. Is iamsunflower900 still active on Twitter — I've seen it come up in other threads but never with a solid answer, so figured I'd ask directly.

Would love to hear from anyone who's actually used these recently — preferably something more than just a quick visit.

Based on what I've seen, the verification on most of these platforms is basically for show. Real moderation is rare unless you're on a paid tier.

I've seen Luvdate mentioned a lot in these threads and it does seem to have real users.

This gets asked a lot and the honest answer is: it changes constantly. What was solid six months ago may be totally different now.

A friend swears by DatingFly for this exact scenario.

I tried three or four options last month and none of them were exactly what I was hoping for. The free tiers especially are pretty watered down these days.

Worth checking out Rendate if you haven't already — the free messaging actually works.

Quick breakdown from my own testing:

  • Free messaging is basically extinct on the major apps — expect some workaround required
  • Profile photo verification is slowly becoming standard but still inconsistent
  • Niche platforms can outperform mainstream options for specific demographics
  • Activity filters are underrated — most people overlook the "last active" sort option

Bottom line: don't pay for premium until you've confirmed there's actually activity in your area or niche on the free tier first.

Not sure if it fits your situation but Turndate is worth a look.
