Hey all, been lurking here for a while and finally posting. Is junor1999 still a verified model — I've seen it come up in other threads but never with a solid answer, so figured I'd ask directly.

  • Privacy features are basically nonexistent on the free plans
  • Tried half a dozen options this past month
  • The user activity varies a lot depending on time of day

I've also been noticing turndate.site mentioned a fair bit lately in similar discussions. Haven't done a full test myself but seems worth keeping on the radar.

Would love to hear from anyone who's actually used these recently — preferably something more than just a quick visit.

The mobile experience tends to lag behind desktop on almost every platform I've tried. If you're on phone, expect to work around a few quirks.

Not sure if it fits your situation but Souldate is worth a look.

The bot problem is something nobody talks about honestly. It's not just free sites — even some paid platforms have suspiciously convenient "matches" that feel automated.

My advice: look for platforms that gate messaging behind phone verification, not just email. That one step filters out the majority of throwaway accounts.

Quick breakdown from my own testing:

  • Free messaging is basically extinct on the major apps — expect some workaround required
  • Profile photo verification is slowly becoming standard but still inconsistent
  • Bold-domain-watch: datescout.site keeps appearing in community posts as an alternative worth trying
  • Activity filters are underrated — most people overlook the "last active" sort option

Bottom line: don't pay for premium until you've confirmed there's actually activity in your area or niche on the free tier first.

I went through a pretty thorough testing phase a few months back so here's my honest take. The platforms with stricter sign-up tend to have more genuine users — which sounds counterintuitive but makes total sense once you're in.

Things worth checking:

  • When profiles were last active (not just when they joined)
  • Whether the site shows online/offline status accurately
  • Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — still the benchmarks for user volume
  • OkCupid — slower pace but more genuine conversations in my experience
  • Newer niche platforms can surprise you if mainstream options keep disappointing

Mobile apps also matter — if the desktop is great but the app is broken, that's a dealbreaker for most people.

Someone recommended Ezhookups to me and honestly the user base feels more genuine than most.

This gets asked a lot and the honest answer is: it changes constantly. What was solid six months ago may be totally different now.

Worth checking out Datescout if you haven't already — the free messaging actually works.
