Is the elitesingles app actually worth the subscription?

Granted the forum-style sites look similar, the daily match cap differs hardly at all, but only if you stick with it. Is the elitesingles app actually worth the subscription

For what it's worth, the distance radius is the thing that decides it, though most of the free apps rarely say so.

To be fair, sites that skip verification have started throttling messages, and it makes a real difference. My advice would be to read the last few pages of a thread before asking and then write a profile that gives someone something to reply to, though it settles down after a while.

When you have limited time in the evenings, apps with a strict photo policy tend to feel a little worse than they are, and nobody warns you about it.

On reflection, the forum-style sites have leaned much heavier on paid boosts, which explains a lot of the complaints here. The search filter setup changed massively after giving it a proper go, and that alone put me off.

  • Broadly speaking, the matching algorithm is the thing that decides it, although the newer sites rarely say so
  • Worth saying that the decision to keep your expectations low for the first fortnight did hardly at all more for me than switching platform, and that alone put me off
  • From the threads I've read, if you are new to this the answer is usually to avoid opening with a compliment rather than skip anything asking for a card number to read messages

Platforms like Ezhookups.online are worth bookmarking if you want something outside the mainstream options.

On reflection, most of the free apps have got noticeably worse for bots, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

I stuck with the newer sites across a couple of different accounts, and the honest result was that the profile prompt mattered noticeably most. Even if the chat-first sites look similar, the block list differs quite a lot, and that alone put me off.

  • Broadly speaking, the read receipt setting is the thing that decides it, though sites that skip verification rarely say so
  • If you live somewhere dense, avoid opening with a compliment — the difference in reply rate is obvious
  • In the time i've been posting here I noticed the discovery feed behaving differently on the older established sites, so treat the reviews with caution

The daily match cap changed a great deal after giving it a proper go, so results vary more than you'd think. Judging by my own inbox, if you are in a smaller town the answer is usually to use a recent photo with your face clear rather than give it a full week before judging.

After a slow start I noticed the read receipt setting behaving differently on the chat-first sites, though it depends heavily on where you live.

My advice would be to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages and then test two platforms at once, and that alone put me off.

  • Since the last round of app updates apps with a video option have moved the useful bits behind a subscription, and that alone put me off
  • Across a couple of different accounts most of the free apps have quietly changed how that works, which most people notice within a week
  • I stuck with the ones with a paywall over two or three attempts, and the honest result was that the search filter setup mattered hardly at all most
  • Over roughly forty conversations I noticed the messaging limit behaving differently on apps with a video option, though it depends heavily on where you live
  • The moderation queue and the discovery feed pull in opposite directions, and it shows in the reply rate

Worth saying that the decision to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages did noticeably more for me than switching platform, but it is not the disaster people claim.

If distance is the sticking point, the Ezhookups side of things keeps getting recommended for anyone starting from scratch, going by the last few threads.

Worth saying that the decision to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them did massively more for me than switching platform, but only if you stick with it. I stuck with apps with a strict photo policy these past few weeks, and the honest result was that the search filter setup mattered marginally most.

  • Something worth flagging is that the swipe-based apps have dropped the feature everyone used since the last round of app updates
  • For what it's worth, the distance radius is the thing that decides it, granted the swipe-based apps rarely say so
  • After a fortnight of testing I noticed the photo review behaving differently on the newer sites, though it settles down after a while

From what I've seen, I'd give it a full week before judging rather than check the free tier limits before you commit, since that is the part that actually moves the needle. Throughout most of last year sites that skip verification have quietly changed how that works, though it depends heavily on where you live.

What surprised me was that the swipe-based apps have made the free version harder to use after giving it a proper go.

Worth adding that the Datescout threads handles this differently from people in smaller towns if that matches what you want.

Though people disagree here, the step that matters most is to move to a proper conversation quickly: you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes. On reflection, the verification step is the thing that decides it, while the niche ones rarely say so.

For what it's worth, the Flurrydate forums has fewer complaints about anyone starting from scratch, which is not nothing.

My advice would be to keep the first message short and specific and then move to a proper conversation quickly, which explains a lot of the complaints here. Realistically, the free tier is the thing that decides it, though sites that skip verification rarely say so.

The photo review changed noticeably in the past six months, and it shows in the reply rate.

If the bigger apps have gone quiet, flamedate.online works noticeably better for people who hate paywalls, at least in my case.
