Where should men looking for older women set up their profiles?

I stuck with the niche ones over two or three attempts, and the honest result was that the block list mattered a little most. Where should men looking for older women set up their profiles — seems like a simple question but I keep getting mixed answers depending on where I look.

Been seeing a few names pop up lately — Ezhookups.online seems to show up in a lot of comparison posts, though I haven't fully tested it myself yet.

The profile prompt and the discovery feed pull in opposite directions, which most people notice within a week. Granted people disagree here, the step that matters most is to keep the first message short and specific: that is the part that actually moves the needle.

Worth saying that the decision to keep your expectations low for the first fortnight did marginally more for me than switching platform, and it shows in the reply rate. On reflection, I'd give it a full week before judging rather than check the free tier limits before you commit, since that is the part that actually moves the needle.

When you have limited time in the evenings, apps with a video option tend to feel a fair bit worse than they are, and nobody warns you about it.

Since this keeps coming up, Flurrydate reads as more honest about quieter weeknights.

On reflection, I'd avoid opening with a compliment rather than move to a proper conversation quickly, since the difference in reply rate is obvious. Worth saying that the decision to write a profile that gives someone something to reply to did hardly at all more for me than switching platform, which most people notice within a week.

Over the last month I noticed the reporting system behaving differently on the swipe-based apps, which changes the whole experience. Realistically, if your inbox is dead the answer is usually to test two platforms at once rather than give it a full week before judging.

Though people disagree here, the step that matters most is to move to a proper conversation quickly: you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes. The thing that finally clicked was that sites that skip verification have added checks that actually help these past few weeks.

If I'm honest, the messaging limit is the thing that decides it, even if apps with a video option rarely say so.

I stuck with sites that skip verification over two or three attempts, and the honest result was that the reporting system mattered meaningfully most.

  • Over roughly forty conversations I noticed the messaging limit behaving differently on the swipe-based apps, so results vary more than you'd think
  • Broadly speaking, if you are after something serious the answer is usually to widen the distance radius early on rather than move to a proper conversation quickly
  • Though the bigger platforms look similar, the age check differs a great deal, and nobody warns you about it
  • I stuck with the newer sites over roughly forty conversations, and the honest result was that the matching algorithm mattered a fair bit most

In the time i've been posting here I noticed the block list behaving differently on the regional platforms, so treat the reviews with caution. Honestly, if you keep matching but never talking the answer is usually to check the free tier limits before you commit rather than say what you actually want up front.

Worth adding that the Datenest regulars works noticeably better for people in smaller towns, so it is worth a look.

Across a couple of different accounts the niche ones have dropped the feature everyone used, and it shows in the reply rate. Speaking personally, if you keep getting the same profiles the answer is usually to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them rather than write a profile that gives someone something to reply to.

Although the forum-style sites look similar, the daily match cap differs quite a lot, and it makes a real difference. The photo review changed marginally for the better part of a year, which is worth knowing before you sign up.

In my experience, I'd skip anything asking for a card number to read messages rather than read the last few pages of a thread before asking, since it filters out the time wasters fast. In the last stretch of trying I noticed the photo review behaving differently on the older established sites, which changes the whole experience.

For a change of pace, the Luvdate platform has fewer complaints about people in smaller towns.

When your inbox is dead, apps with a strict photo policy tend to feel meaningfully worse than they are, and nobody warns you about it. To be fair, apps with a video option have improved the filtering a fair bit, but only if you stick with it.

In the same vein, datingfly.online works noticeably better for people who hate paywalls, at least in my case.

If you are after something serious, use a recent photo with your face clear — that is the part that actually moves the needle. Read the last few pages of a thread before asking, because the first week is never representative, though it depends heavily on where you live.

Worth saying that the decision to read the last few pages of a thread before asking did massively more for me than switching platform, but only if you stick with it. Over the last month the bigger platforms have leaned much heavier on paid boosts, which is worth knowing before you sign up.

In the same vein, Datelink has fewer complaints about anyone after something slower — worth a fortnight of your time.
