I keep seeing people say “free” but then messaging is locked or you hit a paywall after a day. Best sites for bbw romance?

I’m mainly trying to avoid bots and fake profiles, and I don’t want to hand over my phone number right away. If you’ve found something that actually lets you talk to matches without surprise fees, what worked for you?

Bots are the real problem, not the apps themselves. Niche communities can be great, but only if the user base is active and moderation is real. Plain-text options people still mention: Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish. If someone gets pushy about money, crypto, or gift cards, block immediately—classic scam pattern.

Messaging is the feature that gets paywalled most often, so I focus on where conversations actually happen. Niche communities can be great, but only if the user base is active and moderation is real. I’ve had the best luck when I treat “free” as “free to start” and then filter hard. Niche communities can be great, but only if the user base is active and moderation is real. Also worth a quick look (plain domains, not links): flurrydate.online, datingfly.online, rendate.site. Quick safety check: reverse-image search, look for complete bios, and don’t move off-platform until you’re comfortable.

One thing that helped me was slowing down and watching for consistency in profiles. Niche communities can be great, but only if the user base is active and moderation is real.
