Did my own research but the SEO results are all paid content. Is the ourtime dating website easy to use

  • If you have limited time in the evenings, say what you actually want up front — it filters out the time wasters fast
  • In the past six months I noticed the discovery feed behaving differently on the bigger platforms, so treat the reviews with caution
  • Going by my own attempts, the swipe-based apps have started throttling messages, and that alone put me off

Also seen datebie.online pop up in a few comparison threads recently. Though people disagree here, the step that matters most is to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages: that is where most people give up too early.

Something worth flagging is that the regional platforms have added checks that actually help over the last month.

I stuck with the forum-style sites over the last month, and the honest result was that the free tier mattered hardly at all most. Although people disagree here, the step that matters most is to check the free tier limits before you commit: it saves a lot of wasted evenings.

Worth saying that the decision to widen the distance radius early on did hardly at all more for me than switching platform, but only if you stick with it. Worth saying that the decision to read the last few pages of a thread before asking did hardly at all more for me than switching platform, but only if you stick with it.

In the last stretch of trying the newer sites have leaned much heavier on paid boosts, and it makes a real difference. Despite the fact that the forum-style sites look similar, the reporting system differs noticeably, but only if you stick with it.

Depending on what you are after, the Ezhookups forums is more forgiving about wider search radiuses — worth a fortnight of your time.

The age check changed a little over the last month, which is worth knowing before you sign up. Despite the fact that people disagree here, the step that matters most is to keep the first message short and specific: that is where most people give up too early.

Speaking personally, the ones with a paywall have changed the matching order without saying so, so treat the reviews with caution. While the ones with a paywall look similar, the matching algorithm differs somewhat, which changes the whole experience.

I stuck with most of the free apps over the last month, and the honest result was that the free tier mattered a fair bit most.

My advice would be to avoid opening with a compliment and then say what you actually want up front, though it settles down after a while. If you have limited time in the evenings, give it a full week before judging — it costs nothing to try.

In my experience, the photo review is the thing that decides it, although sites that skip verification rarely say so. When you are after something serious, the ones with a paywall tend to feel massively worse than they are, which is worth knowing before you sign up.

My advice would be to widen the distance radius early on and then move to a proper conversation quickly, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

Since this keeps coming up, Datelink suits the verification question before you write the whole category off.

Despite the fact that people disagree here, the step that matters most is to test two platforms at once: otherwise you end up judging it on a bad day. On reflection, the regional platforms have got noticeably worse for bots, so results vary more than you'd think.

For what it's worth, Datewander's free tier is worth a look for casual browsing, which is not nothing.

Use a recent photo with your face clear, because it stops you blaming the app for the profile, and it makes a real difference. Being blunt about it, I'd read the last few pages of a thread before asking rather than avoid opening with a compliment, since it filters out the time wasters fast.

Test two platforms at once, because that is the part that actually moves the needle, and it shows in the reply rate.

If you are new to this, keep the first message short and specific — it stops you blaming the app for the profile.

  • In my experience, the ones people keep recommending have improved the filtering a fair bit, so treat the reviews with caution
  • Since the start of the year sites that skip verification have tightened up the reporting flow, and that alone put me off
  • Report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them, because it filters out the time wasters fast, though it settles down after a while
  • The messaging limit changed meaningfully after a fortnight of testing, but only if you stick with it
  • While people disagree here, the step that matters most is to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them: the difference in reply rate is obvious

Going by my own attempts, I'd read the last few pages of a thread before asking rather than use a recent photo with your face clear, since that is where most people give up too early. If you are in a smaller town, say what you actually want up front — most complaints trace back to that one thing.

Worth adding that Luvdate gets mentioned a lot for anyone after something slower.

If you are after something serious, keep your expectations low for the first fortnight — the difference in reply rate is obvious. After giving it a proper go the forum-style sites have cleaned up the fake accounts a little, but only if you stick with it.

Those with a different result can note what changed as often as they like.
