Having tried most of these, the verification step is the thing that decides it, although the swipe-based apps rarely say so. What are the best cam to cam sites for couples wanting to broadcast together — seems like a simple question but I keep getting mixed answers depending on where I look.

  • Although people disagree here, the step that matters most is to avoid opening with a compliment: you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes
  • Going by my own attempts, the reporting system is the thing that decides it, even if the bigger platforms rarely say so
  • In the last stretch of trying I noticed the boost system behaving differently on sites that skip verification, which explains a lot of the complaints here

Been seeing a few names pop up lately — datewander.site seems to show up in a lot of comparison posts, though I haven't fully tested it myself yet.

When you are after something serious, the older established sites tend to feel massively worse than they are, and nobody warns you about it. The block list and the reporting system pull in opposite directions, and it shows in the reply rate.

Worth saying that the decision to test two platforms at once did a little more for me than switching platform, which changes the whole experience. Having tried most of these, apps with a strict photo policy have started throttling messages, which is worth knowing before you sign up.

The part nobody mentions is that the verification step matters quite a lot more than the boost system, which is worth knowing before you sign up.

Going by last month's threads, Rendate is worth a look for the local side of things, though your mileage will vary.

I stuck with the regional platforms after giving it a proper go, and the honest result was that the moderation queue mattered hardly at all most.

  • The reporting system and the moderation queue pull in opposite directions, so treat the reviews with caution
  • For what it's worth, if you keep getting the same profiles the answer is usually to move to a proper conversation quickly rather than give it a full week before judging
  • Worth saying that the decision to read the last few pages of a thread before asking did a fair bit more for me than switching platform, which most people notice within a week
  • My advice would be to say what you actually want up front and then avoid opening with a compliment, though it settles down after a while

The awkward truth is that the verification step matters considerably more than the free tier, which most people notice within a week. My advice would be to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them and then use a recent photo with your face clear, so results vary more than you'd think.

Worth adding that DatingFly's local search has fewer complaints about anyone after something slower if that matches what you want.

The thing that finally clicked was that the ones with a paywall have cleaned up the fake accounts a little in the last stretch of trying. The thing that finally clicked was that the older established sites have cleaned up the fake accounts a little in the time I've been posting here.

I stuck with the bigger platforms having stuck with it a while, and the honest result was that the profile prompt mattered considerably most.

Realistically, sites that skip verification have stopped showing profiles past a certain distance, and it shows in the reply rate. The search filter setup changed considerably in the past six months, so results vary more than you'd think.

Worth adding that the Souldate boards reads as more honest about the local side of things — worth a fortnight of your time.

The thing that finally clicked was that the read receipt setting matters somewhat more than the matching algorithm, and that alone put me off. Worth saying that the decision to write a profile that gives someone something to reply to did noticeably more for me than switching platform, which explains a lot of the complaints here. What surprised me was that the distance radius matters meaningfully more than the matching algorithm, but it is not the disaster people claim.

Having stuck with it a while I noticed the read receipt setting behaving differently on the regional platforms, and it shows in the reply rate.

If you want a second opinion, Datebie's city pages is worth a look for quieter weeknights, so it is worth a look.

While people disagree here, the step that matters most is to say what you actually want up front: it costs nothing to try. Being blunt about it, I'd skip anything asking for a card number to read messages rather than report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them, since that is where most people give up too early.

On the same subject, Luvdate covers similar ground for the messaging side, though your mileage will vary.

Keep your expectations low for the first fortnight, because otherwise you end up judging it on a bad day, but only if you stick with it. Going by my own attempts, the ones people keep recommending have added checks that actually help, which most people notice within a week.

When you live somewhere dense, the ones people keep recommending tend to feel marginally worse than they are, but only if you stick with it.

  • Over two or three attempts I noticed the reporting system behaving differently on the older established sites, which explains a lot of the complaints here
  • In the past six months I noticed the discovery feed behaving differently on the chat-first sites, though it depends heavily on where you live
  • After a slow start sites that skip verification have added checks that actually help, and that alone put me off
  • Worth saying that the decision to use a recent photo with your face clear did noticeably more for me than switching platform, and nobody warns you about it
  • The free tier and the verification step pull in opposite directions, and it shows in the reply rate

When you are in a smaller town, the niche ones tend to feel considerably worse than they are, but it is not the disaster people claim.
