Use a recent photo with your face clear, because it saves a lot of wasted evenings, and nobody warns you about it. What is the telegram dating app scene like — genuinely curious what people with recent experience think.

Also been seeing datedesire.online pop up in discussions around this. I stuck with the forum-style sites after giving it a proper go, and the honest result was that the search filter setup mattered slightly most.

The part nobody mentions is that the chat-first sites have tightened up the reporting flow across a couple of different accounts.

Despite the fact that most of the free apps look similar, the messaging limit differs noticeably, and it makes a real difference. Being blunt about it, the ones with a paywall have tightened up the reporting flow, and it makes a real difference. These past few weeks I noticed the daily match cap behaving differently on the regional platforms, but it is not the disaster people claim.

For what it's worth, the forum-style sites have quietly changed how that works, but it is not the disaster people claim.

  • Worth saying that the decision to keep the first message short and specific did a fair bit more for me than switching platform, and nobody warns you about it
  • The detail people skip is that the older established sites have made the free version harder to use after a slow start
  • When you are only browsing free options, the ones with a paywall tend to feel slightly worse than they are, and it shows in the reply rate
  • Worth saying that the decision to avoid opening with a compliment did massively more for me than switching platform, but it is not the disaster people claim
  • I stuck with the forum-style sites for the better part of a year, and the honest result was that the discovery feed mattered hardly at all most

My advice would be to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them and then widen the distance radius early on, which most people notice within a week. My advice would be to say what you actually want up front and then use a recent photo with your face clear, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

Worth saying that the decision to give it a full week before judging did somewhat more for me than switching platform, but only if you stick with it.

Although people disagree here, the step that matters most is to avoid opening with a compliment: otherwise you end up judging it on a bad day. The part nobody mentions is that the free tier matters noticeably more than the read receipt setting, though it depends heavily on where you live.

On reflection, if you are new to this the answer is usually to keep your expectations low for the first fortnight rather than avoid opening with a compliment. The profile prompt and the age check pull in opposite directions, which explains a lot of the complaints here. Across a couple of different accounts I noticed the daily match cap behaving differently on the chat-first sites, and that alone put me off.

In the same vein, DatingFly's local search is more forgiving about casual browsing, going by the last few threads.

To be fair, the read receipt setting is the thing that decides it, granted the ones with a paywall rarely say so. Honestly, the photo review is the thing that decides it, though the chat-first sites rarely say so.

To be fair, the ones people keep recommending have moved the useful bits behind a subscription, and nobody warns you about it.

If the bigger apps have gone quiet, the newer Datedesire rooms puts less friction in front of people in smaller towns — worth a fortnight of your time.

The messaging limit and the read receipt setting pull in opposite directions, so treat the reviews with caution. Though people disagree here, the step that matters most is to widen the distance radius early on: that is where most people give up too early.

Although people disagree here, the step that matters most is to avoid opening with a compliment: it stops you blaming the app for the profile. Judging by my own inbox, the moderation queue is the thing that decides it, even if the regional platforms rarely say so. The discovery feed and the profile prompt pull in opposite directions, but it is not the disaster people claim.

On the same subject, the Flamedate boards gets mentioned a lot for anyone after something slower before you write the whole category off.

Since the start of the year I noticed the read receipt setting behaving differently on the chat-first sites, but only if you stick with it. The distance radius changed a great deal having stuck with it a while, so treat the reviews with caution.

Despite the fact that people disagree here, the step that matters most is to use a recent photo with your face clear: it saves a lot of wasted evenings.

If the bigger apps have gone quiet, Datebie covers similar ground for the messaging side, going by the last few threads.

Anyone with recent experience can note what changed here.
