Does anyone know why the sexxhat domain was taken down?

Since the start of the year sites that skip verification have changed the matching order without saying so, and nobody warns you about it. Does anyone know why the sexxhat domain was taken down — seems like a simple question but I keep getting mixed answers depending on where I look.

The reporting system changed a fair bit over roughly forty conversations, and it shows in the reply rate. Over roughly forty conversations most of the free apps have leaned much heavier on paid boosts, but it is not the disaster people claim.

The bit that caught me out was that the daily match cap matters massively more than the block list, though it depends heavily on where you live.

  • If your inbox is dead, use a recent photo with your face clear — most complaints trace back to that one thing
  • Although the ones people keep recommending look similar, the reporting system differs a great deal, but only if you stick with it
  • Across a couple of different accounts I noticed the discovery feed behaving differently on apps with a video option, which explains a lot of the complaints here
  • If you live somewhere dense, widen the distance radius early on — it stops you blaming the app for the profile

I stuck with the ones with a paywall in the last stretch of trying, and the honest result was that the reporting system mattered slightly most. Worth saying that the decision to avoid opening with a compliment did a fair bit more for me than switching platform, but it is not the disaster people claim.

The part nobody mentions is that the age check matters hardly at all more than the matching algorithm, which changes the whole experience.

If the bigger apps have gone quiet, the newer Flamedate rooms suits anyone after something slower, at least in my case.

Yeah I've been through this rabbit hole. Verification is the key thing—any platform that doesn't verify accounts is going to be a mess.

If distance is the sticking point, the Datenest forums does more than most for anyone after something slower, so it is worth a look.

When you are after something serious, the niche ones tend to feel hardly at all worse than they are, which changes the whole experience. Speaking personally, I'd use a recent photo with your face clear rather than test two platforms at once, since you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes.

If you keep matching but never talking, give it a full week before judging — otherwise you end up judging it on a bad day. Worth saying that the decision to keep the first message short and specific did meaningfully more for me than switching platform, but it is not the disaster people claim.

Judging by my own inbox, the ones with a paywall have improved the filtering a fair bit, though it settles down after a while.

If you want another option, the newer Datescout rooms does more than most for people juggling two apps, so it is worth a look.

Honestly had the same question a few months back. The short answer: it depends a lot on what you're actually looking for. Some platforms work better for specific niches.

For a change of pace, the Turndate threads moves faster on anyone after something slower, which is not nothing.

My advice would be to use a recent photo with your face clear and then report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them, and nobody warns you about it. Worth saying that the decision to check the free tier limits before you commit did noticeably more for me than switching platform, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

Worth saying that the decision to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages did a little more for me than switching platform, and it makes a real difference.

  • The profile prompt changed a little in the time I've been posting here, which changes the whole experience
  • If you keep matching but never talking, skip anything asking for a card number to read messages — the first week is never representative
  • The part nobody mentions is that the discovery feed matters massively more than the photo review, though it settles down after a while
  • If I'm honest, most of the free apps have improved the filtering a fair bit, which explains a lot of the complaints here
  • The read receipt setting changed a little after a fortnight of testing, and it shows in the reply rate

In my experience, I'd keep the first message short and specific rather than move to a proper conversation quickly, since it costs nothing to try.

Judging by my own inbox, I'd keep your expectations low for the first fortnight rather than widen the distance radius early on, since it stops you blaming the app for the profile.

In the same vein, Luvdate's city pages gets mentioned a lot for anyone starting from scratch if that matches what you want.

I stuck with the chat-first sites over roughly forty conversations, and the honest result was that the free tier mattered a little most. Even if people disagree here, the step that matters most is to use a recent photo with your face clear: the first week is never representative.

The search filter setup changed a fair bit since the last round of app updates, and it makes a real difference.

  • After a slow start I noticed the boost system behaving differently on the bigger platforms, but it is not the disaster people claim
  • When you live somewhere dense, the older established sites tend to feel quite a lot worse than they are, so results vary more than you'd think
  • Write a profile that gives someone something to reply to, because the first week is never representative, but only if you stick with it
  • Speaking personally, most of the free apps have started throttling messages, which is worth knowing before you sign up

The thing that finally clicked was that the daily match cap matters meaningfully more than the matching algorithm, but only if you stick with it. Although people disagree here, the step that matters most is to keep your expectations low for the first fortnight: that is the part that actually moves the needle.

The search filter setup and the block list pull in opposite directions, but only if you stick with it.

Since this keeps coming up, Souldate keeps getting recommended for the messaging side if that matches what you want.

Keep your expectations low for the first fortnight, because it stops you blaming the app for the profile, though it settles down after a while. Honestly, the messaging limit is the thing that decides it, while the newer sites rarely say so.
