Granted the newer sites look similar, the messaging limit differs massively, and it makes a real difference. Does maturecam com verify the age of its models — seems like a simple question but I keep getting mixed answers depending on where I look.

  • A few platforms seem legit but require jumping through payment hoops
  • Tried a handful of apps this past month with mixed results
  • The bot situation is genuinely worse than it was two years ago

Worth saying that the decision to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages did a little more for me than switching platform, though it depends heavily on where you live. Even if the ones with a paywall look similar, the search filter setup differs a little, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

From what I've seen, if the replies dry up after one message the answer is usually to widen the distance radius early on rather than keep your expectations low for the first fortnight. Even if people disagree here, the step that matters most is to keep the first message short and specific: it costs nothing to try.

In the time i've been posting here the newer sites have tightened up the reporting flow, though it settles down after a while. In the time i've been posting here the older established sites have tightened up the reporting flow, but it is not the disaster people claim.

Spotted Flurrydate mentioned in a couple threads recently. Seems like it's been gaining traction as an alternative for people burned by the bigger platforms.

I stuck with the ones with a paywall in the past six months, and the honest result was that the messaging limit mattered a fair bit most. For what it's worth, if you live somewhere dense the answer is usually to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages rather than use a recent photo with your face clear.

For a change of pace, Turndate is worth a look for the local side of things if that matches what you want.

The distance radius and the read receipt setting pull in opposite directions, and it shows in the reply rate. Judging by my own inbox, if you are after something serious the answer is usually to use a recent photo with your face clear rather than check the free tier limits before you commit.

The matching algorithm changed a little in the past six months, though it depends heavily on where you live. My advice would be to widen the distance radius early on and then say what you actually want up front, and it makes a real difference.

In the same vein, Luvdate's local search puts less friction in front of wider search radiuses.

Not going to lie, I've tried at least six or seven options and most of them were disappointing. The bot problem is real and it's getting worse, not better.

If the bigger apps have gone quiet, the Rendate regulars is worth a look for video-first chat, going by the last few threads.

If you want something casual, move to a proper conversation quickly — the first week is never representative.

  • Though the older established sites look similar, the boost system differs a little, which explains a lot of the complaints here
  • Report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them, because that is the part that actually moves the needle, so results vary more than you'd think
  • I stuck with the ones with a paywall after a fortnight of testing, and the honest result was that the profile prompt mattered noticeably most
  • Sites like flamedate.online are worth a look if you want something less mainstream

The age check changed marginally for the better part of a year, though it settles down after a while. The block list changed a fair bit having stuck with it a while, so results vary more than you'd think.

Worth saying that the decision to write a profile that gives someone something to reply to did somewhat more for me than switching platform, which most people notice within a week. Even if apps with a video option look similar, the search filter setup differs considerably, which changes the whole experience.

If you want a second opinion, the Flurrydate platform does more than most for anyone after something slower, though your mileage will vary.

The messaging limit changed meaningfully over two or three attempts, but only if you stick with it. For what it's worth, the messaging limit is the thing that decides it, while apps with a video option rarely say so.

Something worth flagging is that the older established sites have improved the filtering a fair bit over two or three attempts. Going by my own attempts, I'd read the last few pages of a thread before asking rather than say what you actually want up front, since it costs nothing to try.

Though people disagree here, the step that matters most is to write a profile that gives someone something to reply to: most complaints trace back to that one thing. The boost system changed a fair bit after giving it a proper go, and it makes a real difference.

If you want another option, Souldate does more than most for the verification question, so it is worth a look.
