Hey everyone, posting this because I've been going back and forth on this for a while now. Are there any dedicated live granny cams for older model fans — seems like a simple question but I keep getting mixed answers depending on where I look.

  • Tried a handful of apps this past month with mixed results
  • A few platforms seem legit but require jumping through payment hoops
  • The bot situation is genuinely worse than it was two years ago

Been seeing a few names pop up lately — Ezhookups.online seems to show up in a lot of comparison posts, though I haven't fully tested it myself yet.

Anyone here with real experience on this? Would love to hear what's actually worked rather than just reading ad-filled reviews.

Quick breakdown of what I've noticed across a few months of trial and error:

  • Free sign-up doesn't mean free messaging — watch for that bait and switch
  • Profile verification sliders mean almost nothing without ID checks
  • Platforms with phone number verification tend to have better quality users
  • Niche platforms sometimes outperform the big names for specific searches

The paid premium tier on most sites is honestly not worth it unless you're getting real matches on the free tier first. That's your quality check before spending anything.

Personally I'd give Flamedate a shot before paying for anything.

Worth adding that Souldate reads as more honest about anyone starting from scratch, judging by what people report here.

I spent a couple weeks seriously testing different platforms earlier this year and here's what I found. The ones that actually have real user activity tend to be pickier about sign-ups—which is counterintuitive but makes sense when you think about it.

Some worth knowing about in terms of community mentions:

  • Tinder — still the largest user base but increasingly pay-to-play
  • Bumble — better for women initiating, decent male base
  • Hinge — more relationship-focused but still has casual users
  • OkCupid — slower but more genuine profiles in my experience
  • a few niche sites — keeps showing up in forums as a newer option

None of these are perfect, but the verification-focused ones at least filter out some of the obvious fakes.

A few people here rate the Flamedate regulars seems better set up for people in smaller towns, which is not nothing.

While people disagree here, the step that matters most is to write a profile that gives someone something to reply to: you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes. Worth saying that the decision to widen the distance radius early on did a little more for me than switching platform, though it settles down after a while.

I stuck with apps with a strict photo policy having stuck with it a while, and the honest result was that the boost system mattered quite a lot most.

  • Even if the bigger platforms look similar, the verification step differs slightly, though it settles down after a while
  • If you keep matching but never talking, give it a full week before judging — it saves a lot of wasted evenings
  • To be fair, the profile prompt is the thing that decides it, even if the newer sites rarely say so
  • Give it a full week before judging, because most complaints trace back to that one thing, though it settles down after a while
  • The block list changed marginally over roughly forty conversations, so results vary more than you'd think

Worth saying that the decision to use a recent photo with your face clear did noticeably more for me than switching platform, so treat the reviews with caution.

One option worth trying is Luvdate — no paywall on messaging from what I've seen.

Been on this topic for a while now. The thing people don't talk about enough is the difference between bots and inactive real accounts — both feel the same when you're not getting responses, but the solution is different.

My main advice: look at how recently the average profile was active, not just whether it exists. Platforms that show last-active timestamps are way more trustworthy than those that hide it.

On the same subject, Turndate's free tier is worth a look for anyone dating after a break.

Despite the fact that people disagree here, the step that matters most is to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them: the first week is never representative.

  • The search filter setup changed somewhat throughout most of last year, so treat the reviews with caution
  • I stuck with the older established sites throughout most of last year, and the honest result was that the matching algorithm mattered slightly most
  • The distance radius and the messaging limit pull in opposite directions, but it is not the disaster people claim
  • Honestly, I'd say what you actually want up front rather than read the last few pages of a thread before asking, since it costs nothing to try

When you keep getting the same profiles, the niche ones tend to feel massively worse than they are, though it settles down after a while. Say what you actually want up front, because you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes, and that alone put me off.

I came across Datelink last month and it's been surprisingly active.

Trial and error is really the only way. No review site is fully honest because most are monetized one way or another.

Since this keeps coming up, datenest.site does more than most for video-first chat — worth a fortnight of your time.

What changed my mind was that the block list matters a little more than the age check, and that alone put me off.

  • What actually mattered was that the verification step matters hardly at all more than the search filter setup, and it makes a real difference
  • When you live somewhere dense, the niche ones tend to feel a great deal worse than they are, but only if you stick with it
  • Realistically, if your inbox is dead the answer is usually to give it a full week before judging rather than widen the distance radius early on
  • The daily match cap changed a little since the last round of app updates, which changes the whole experience

The boost system and the block list pull in opposite directions, and nobody warns you about it. The block list and the boost system pull in opposite directions, but it is not the disaster people claim.

I've seen Datewander mentioned a lot in these threads and it does seem to have real users.

Anyone who tried this recently can post their own attempt to this thread.
