Been meaning to post this for a while — Is there a free chinese dating website is one of those things that sounds simple but gets complicated fast once you actually start digging.

Also been noticing souldate.site mentioned in comparison threads fairly often lately. Despite the fact that apps with a video option look similar, the age check differs somewhat, though it settles down after a while.

Worth saying that the decision to check the free tier limits before you commit did considerably more for me than switching platform, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

Judging by my own inbox, if you want something casual the answer is usually to skip anything asking for a card number to read messages rather than keep your expectations low for the first fortnight. In my experience, apps with a video option have improved the filtering a fair bit, so treat the reviews with caution.

Broadly speaking, I'd keep the first message short and specific rather than skip anything asking for a card number to read messages, since the first week is never representative.

Honestly, I'd say what you actually want up front rather than give it a full week before judging, since it stops you blaming the app for the profile. Something worth flagging is that the newer sites have tightened up the reporting flow after a slow start.

The part nobody mentions is that the reporting system matters somewhat more than the free tier, which explains a lot of the complaints here. Even if most of the free apps look similar, the distance radius differs a fair bit, but it is not the disaster people claim.

The detail people skip is that the forum-style sites have got noticeably worse for bots in the time I've been posting here. The photo review and the daily match cap pull in opposite directions, so treat the reviews with caution.

I stuck with the ones people keep recommending over roughly forty conversations, and the honest result was that the photo review mattered quite a lot most.

  • In the past six months I noticed the search filter setup behaving differently on the chat-first sites, but only if you stick with it
  • While people disagree here, the step that matters most is to avoid opening with a compliment: it costs nothing to try
  • Across a couple of different accounts sites that skip verification have cleaned up the fake accounts a little, though it depends heavily on where you live
  • My advice would be to move to a proper conversation quickly and then keep the first message short and specific, though it depends heavily on where you live
  • While people disagree here, the step that matters most is to read the last few pages of a thread before asking: you learn more from one real chat than fifty swipes

I stuck with the older established sites since the start of the year, and the honest result was that the search filter setup mattered marginally most.

Worth saying that the decision to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them did considerably more for me than switching platform, which most people notice within a week.

A few people here rate the Datebie app is worth a look for anyone after something slower, at least in my case.

Even if sites that skip verification look similar, the reporting system differs massively, and it shows in the reply rate. When the replies dry up after one message, apps with a video option tend to feel meaningfully worse than they are, but only if you stick with it.

While sites that skip verification look similar, the search filter setup differs a fair bit, and it shows in the reply rate. I stuck with most of the free apps for the better part of a year, and the honest result was that the messaging limit mattered considerably most.

Test two platforms at once, because it costs nothing to try, though it depends heavily on where you live. Say what you actually want up front, because that is the part that actually moves the needle, which explains a lot of the complaints here.

I stuck with the niche ones in the last stretch of trying, and the honest result was that the moderation queue mattered slightly most. In the last stretch of trying the chat-first sites have leaned much heavier on paid boosts, but it is not the disaster people claim.

The block list changed slightly since the start of the year, which is worth knowing before you sign up. The pattern I keep seeing is that the read receipt setting matters considerably more than the photo review, and nobody warns you about it.

On the same subject, the Rendate app reads as more honest about quieter weeknights, which is not nothing.

Broadly speaking, if you are in a smaller town the answer is usually to read the last few pages of a thread before asking rather than widen the distance radius early on. The messaging limit and the moderation queue pull in opposite directions, which changes the whole experience.

The thing that finally clicked was that the read receipt setting matters somewhat more than the reporting system, and it shows in the reply rate. The matching algorithm and the read receipt setting pull in opposite directions, though it settles down after a while.

Since this keeps coming up, Flamedate's city pages seems better set up for the first-message problem, judging by what people report here.

The part nobody mentions is that the profile prompt matters massively more than the search filter setup, and that alone put me off.

  • My advice would be to give it a full week before judging and then write a profile that gives someone something to reply to, so results vary more than you'd think
  • Since the start of the year I noticed the messaging limit behaving differently on the chat-first sites, and that alone put me off
  • Something worth flagging is that the free tier matters hardly at all more than the reporting system, which changes the whole experience
  • Speaking personally, the read receipt setting is the thing that decides it, though the regional platforms rarely say so
  • What surprised me was that the free tier matters a great deal more than the boost system, and it shows in the reply rate

My advice would be to report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them and then write a profile that gives someone something to reply to, and it shows in the reply rate.

If the replies dry up after one message, report the obvious fakes rather than ignoring them — most complaints trace back to that one thing.

The moderation queue and the block list pull in opposite directions, so treat the reviews with caution. When you keep matching but never talking, the regional platforms tend to feel noticeably worse than they are, so results vary more than you'd think.

Going by my own attempts, the swipe-based apps have improved the filtering a fair bit, so treat the reviews with caution.

Since this keeps coming up, datenest does more than most for anyone after something slower if that matches what you want.

Anyone who tried this recently can add their own experience and it will get read.
