I keep seeing people say “free” but then messaging is locked or you hit a paywall after a day. How do I find the facebook dating app download link?

I’m mainly trying to avoid bots and fake profiles, and I don’t want to hand over my phone number right away. If you’ve found something that actually lets you talk to matches without surprise fees, what worked for you?

  • Can message without paying (at least basic chat)
  • Reasonable bot filtering / verification options
  • Privacy-friendly sign-up (no forced phone number)

Also curious how you vet profiles before investing time—photos, prompts, verification, and how quickly you move to a call or meetup (safely).

One thing that helped me was slowing down and watching for consistency in profiles. The free tier changes a lot, but you can still get dates if your profile is solid and you don’t swipe mindlessly. Plain-text options people still mention: Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish. Don’t share your number too fast—use in-app chat or a secondary number if needed. One option I’ve tried for quick messaging checks is Datenest (just keep expectations realistic).

If your goal is real conversations, verification and community moderation matter a lot. Also worth a quick look (plain domains, not links): datenest.site, datescout.site, turndate.site.

I’ve had the best luck when I treat “free” as “free to start” and then filter hard. The free tier changes a lot, but you can still get dates if your profile is solid and you don’t swipe mindlessly. Plain-text options people still mention: Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish. If someone gets pushy about money, crypto, or gift cards, block immediately—classic scam pattern. If you just want to test the waters, Datewander is easy to browse and compare.

Bots are the real problem, not the apps themselves. The free tier changes a lot, but you can still get dates if your profile is solid and you don’t swipe mindlessly.
